3. How to Import Music
Importing Single or Multiple Audio Files
- Open the Library tab in LocalMusic.
- Tap the + button in the top right.
- Select Import Files.
- Browse and select your audio files from iCloud Drive, the On My iPhone folder, or connected external storage.
- Tap Open to import the files into your library.
Importing Entire Music Folders & Albums
- Tap the + button in the Library tab.

- Navigate to the folder containing your music (e.g., an artist or album directory).
- Tap Open. LocalMusic will recursively scan and import all compatible audio tracks inside that directory.
4. How to Add and View Synced Lyrics
LocalMusic supports both embedded lyrics and standalone lyrics files:
- Embedded Lyrics: If your audio file contains embedded ID3 synchronized or unsynchronized lyrics, LocalMusic reads and displays them automatically.
- Importing .LRC Files: You can import standalone
.lrc,.srt, or.txtfiles for any song via the song menu to enjoy real-time scrolling lyrics synced to the music.
5. 10-Band Equalizer & Crossfade Mixing
Open the Now Playing view and tap the equalizer icon to access the audio engine controls:
- 10-Band EQ: Adjust frequencies across 32Hz, 64Hz, 125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, and 16kHz, or choose presets like Bass Boost, Rock, Acoustic, or Vocal.
- Crossfade: In Settings, configure crossfade duration to smoothly blend the end of one song into the beginning of the next, eliminating silent gaps between tracks.
6. Listening Stats & Privacy
LocalMusic includes an advanced Listening Stats tab that displays your total listening time, top tracks, favorite artists, and listening streaks. All statistics are calculated and stored 100% locally on your iPhone using Core Data. We never upload, transmit, or monetize your listening habits.
7. Pro Upgrade Options & Billing
LocalMusic provides a generous free tier allowing you to import up to 5 songs and experience all audio engine, equalizer, and playlist features. To import unlimited songs, two upgrade options are available:
- LocalMusic Yearly Pro ($19.99 / year): Auto-renewable annual subscription billed via your Apple ID.
- LocalMusic Lifetime Pro ($9.99 one-time): Single one-time purchase granting permanent unlimited access without recurring fees.
Managing or Cancelling Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are managed directly through Apple. You can review, change, or cancel your subscription anytime by opening your iPhone's Settings > [Your Apple ID] > Subscriptions.
Restoring Purchases
If you switch to a new iPhone or reinstall the app, open Settings or the Pro upgrade sheet in LocalMusic and tap Restore Purchases. Your purchase will unlock immediately when signed in with the same Apple ID.
8. Copyright & Legal Compliance FAQ
Does LocalMusic provide, host, or download music?
No. LocalMusic is an offline player software utility. We do not provide, host, stream, scrape, search, or distribute music or copyrighted recordings. You supply 100% of the audio files you import from your own personal collection.
What are my responsibilities regarding music files?
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right, ownership, or authorized license to import and play any audio files, lyrics, or artwork you use in the app. Using LocalMusic to play unauthorized or pirated recordings violates our Terms of Use.
9. Hearing Safety & Volume Caution
Listening to loud audio through headphones or earbuds for extended periods can lead to permanent hearing loss or tinnitus. Use caution when boosting equalizer bands or raising volume levels. LocalMusic disclaims any liability for hearing impairment or equipment damage resulting from high-volume listening.
10. Backup Recommendations
Because LocalMusic stores imported songs locally in the app's sandboxed storage on your device, deleting the app will remove those local copies. Always maintain an independent backup of your music files on your computer, iCloud Drive, or external hard drive.
11. Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
If you encounter an issue:
- File won't play: Verify the audio format is supported (MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, AIFF, CAF). Highly proprietary or DRM-protected files (such as Apple Music streaming downloads) cannot be played by third-party apps.
- App crashes or freezes: Restart the app or restart your iPhone to free system memory.
- Purchase not recognized: Tap “Restore Purchases” in the app Settings while connected to the internet.
