LocalMusic is built from the ground up with zero-tracking, zero-data-collection, and total on-device isolation.

This Privacy Policy explains how Kanaiyalal Kavathiya (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) protects your privacy when you use the LocalMusic mobile application for iOS (the “App”).

1. Fundamental Privacy Principle: 100% On-Device

LocalMusic is an offline utility designed exclusively to organize and play audio files that you choose to import. We operate no remote user servers, maintain no user database, require no account registration, and collect zero personal information from you.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To deliver playback, organization, and audio features, the App stores data strictly within the sandboxed local storage of your iOS device. This local data includes:

  • Audio Files & Folders: The audio tracks you import from the iOS Files picker or external drives (e.g., MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, AIFF, CAF).
  • Lyrics Files: Standalone lyrics files (.lrc, .srt, .txt) and embedded ID3 synchronized lyrics.
  • Metadata & Cover Art: Song titles, artist names, album titles, track durations, and album artwork (either embedded or custom-assigned).
  • Playlists & Queue: Playlists you create, song order, playback queues, shuffle order, and repeat modes.
  • Audio Engine Preferences: 10-band equalizer slider gains, selected EQ presets, crossfade transition duration, playback speed, and sleep timer settings.
  • Private Listening Stats: Local play counts, listening duration (hours/minutes), top played songs, and listening streaks calculated entirely on-device by local Core Data logic. These stats are never transmitted anywhere.
  • Pro Entitlement State: Locally cached StoreKit receipt / purchase verification status to allow uninterrupted offline Pro access.

3. Zero Server Uploads & File Isolation

When you import audio files or lyrics into LocalMusic, the files are copied directly into the App's sandboxed local container on your iPhone.

  • We do not host or operate any file storage servers.
  • Your songs, artwork, lyrics, and metadata are never transmitted, uploaded, streamed, or synchronized to any external server by LocalMusic.
  • You maintain sole physical possession and custody of your files at all times.

4. In-App Purchases and Billing Data

If you purchase LocalMusic Pro (Yearly Subscription or Lifetime Unlock), payments and subscription billing are handled exclusively by Apple Inc. through the App Store and StoreKit framework.

The Developer never receives, sees, processes, or stores your credit card numbers, billing addresses, Apple ID credentials, or bank information. All payment processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

5. Lock Screen, Control Center, and Home Screen Widgets

When using iOS system media features:

  • Lock Screen & Control Center: The App uses Apple's native MPNowPlayingInfoCenter and MPRemoteCommandCenter to display the current track title, artist, artwork, and scrub bar on your lock screen and respond to headphone/Bluetooth controls.
  • Home Screen Widgets: The App utilizes a local App Group container shared strictly between the main app and widget extension on your iPhone so the widget can display the current track, Up Next songs, and playback actions. No external networking is involved.

6. Siri Shortcuts & App Intents

If you configure Siri Shortcuts or voice commands (“Play my music in LocalMusic”), processing is handled on-device by Apple's SiriKit and App Intents architecture under iOS system security policies.

7. Zero Tracking, Analytics, and Advertising SDKs

LocalMusic is built with clean, native code:

  • NO Advertising SDKs: We do not include any ad networks, ad trackers, or advertising IDs.
  • NO Third-Party Analytics: We do not embed Google Analytics, Firebase, Meta SDK, or telemetry frameworks.
  • NO Fingerprinting: We do not track you across apps, websites, or services.

8. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act:

  • We do not collect personal information as defined by California law.
  • We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Because we store no personal data on servers, there is no personal data to disclose, sell, or delete from remote databases.

9. European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Under the EU GDPR and UK GDPR, all data processing of your audio files, listening stats, and settings occurs locally on your personal device pursuant to your direct instruction (performance of contract/software utility). As the Developer maintains no remote servers holding your personal data, you exercise complete control (access, rectification, erasure, and portability) by managing files in the App or deleting the App from your device.

10. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

LocalMusic does not knowingly collect, solicit, or maintain any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The App is an offline tool safe for all ages.

11. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion

Because all data is stored locally on your device:

  • You can delete individual songs, albums, or playlists anytime within the App.
  • Deleting the App from your iPhone will immediately erase all locally copied files, playlists, and cached settings in accordance with standard iOS sandboxing.
  • You are responsible for retaining backups of your original audio files outside of the App.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect App enhancements or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date.
